Passed away peacefully at her home, Erin Mills Lodge, Mississauga on December 30, 2011 at the age of 91.
Beloved wife for 63 years of Bill Thistle. Loving Mother of Barbara and her husband Wayne Tucker, David and his wife Susanne, Stephen and his wife Ruth Thistle.
Proud Grandma of Adam (Lindsay), Christopher (Amy), Sarah (David), Heather, Kathleen, Bill (Ali) and Laura. Dearest Greatgrandma of Quinn and Henry.
Survived by her sisters in law Lynn and Arlene Gowland.
Mom was well known for her community spirit giving countless hours to her church, Cancer Society, United Way and the Boy Scouts. Mom imparted to her children and grandchildren her love of sports, cottage life, adventure and travel. Her loving and generous spirit has created a legacy of a strong caring family. Our dear Mother passed away with her greatest gift of all, her loving family by her side.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Weston, Ontario (north of Lawrence Avenue) from 2-4 pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 4 pm.
Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
