Edvin Strgacic

Passed away peacefully with his loving wife at his side on Saturday April 27, 2024 at the age of 84. Devoted husband of Vera of 59 wonderful years. Proud father of Ivana (Jon), Tom (Kateryna) and Anton (Andrea). Cherished Didi of Erika, Maya, Mason, Mila, Allie and Eva. Dear brother of Zdenka and Diana (Milivoj).
Born in Sibenik, Croatia to parents Valentine and Neda. Edvin was at a school dance in 1961 when he caught the eye of the beautiful Vera. On February 27, 1965 he married the love of his life. In 1968 Edvin made the bold move to Canada to start a better life for himself and his bride. Vera followed the following year. Together the couple worked hard to provide for their young family of five. He started his own successful accounting firm called Can-Cro Accounting in 1972 and that helped support his family over the next five decades.
Edvin was equally proud to be Canadian as much as he was Croatian. He was very active in politics raising funds here to support the fall of Communism in Croatia. Edvin was a very proud grandfather to six grandchildren. His grandchildren meant the world to him. Quiet time for Edvin was enjoyed being outside or working with his hands, woodworking or carpentry. He loved watching his boys play sports and spending time together watching the Raptors and Soccer. Edvin loved to travel. He and Vera have traveled the world.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Tuesday May 7th, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at 10am at Queen of Peace Church 9118 Winston Churchill Blvd., Norval, with a small reception to follow. Edvin will be laid to rest this Summer, back home in Sibenik.
