Passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Brampton Civic Hospital, he was in his 87th year.
Beloved husband of Maryke for 62 years. Cherished father of Anita (Steve), and Peter (Sandra). Sadly missed by grandchildren Faith (Corey), and Nathan (Nicole). He is survived by his twin brother Bauke (Nellie). Predeceased by brother Willem and his late wife Johanna. Durk will also be greatly missed by extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South, Brampton on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service to follow at Holland Christian Homes on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
