Peacefully passed away, with family by his side, on Friday, May 27, 2011, at Bethell House – Inglewood at the age of 56.
Beloved husband of 33 years to Brenda (House), loving and adored father of Christine and her husband Simon and James and his partner Jennifer. Pappy will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Charlie, Amelia and Emma.
Dear son of Gail (Hay) and the late George LeBoeuf. Doug will be sadly missed by his brother Phil (Shelley), his sister Tracey (Sam Pappas), his brother-in-law Ed House (Claire). He was a special uncle to Lisa (Sean), Laura, Lindsay, William, Jillian, Christopher, Alison, Jonathon and Robert. A dear great uncle to Liam, Caiden,Benjamin.
Lovingly remembered by many friends and family whose lives he has touched. To Doug, everyone was his friend and he would go out of his way to help them. His generosity and sense of humour will be remembered forever.
In March 2006, Doug retired after serving 31 years as a Toronto Police Services Constable. He began at One Traffic and spent the greater part of his career at 13 Division. He worked in many capacities including the Detective Office, Plain Clothes, Fraud and Youth Bureau.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sauls and the staff of Credit Valley Hospital for their dedication during Doug’s struggle with cancer. Also, we are grateful for the generous support, warmth and personal care given by the staff of Bethell House Hospice.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, S., Brampton on Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethell House – Inglewood.
