- Douglas Arnott Charlton, 72, of Orillia, Ontario passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 surrounded by family and with his wife, Marlena and children, Bruce and Amanda, by his side. He was the strongest man we know and we loved him more than words could describe.
- Douglas was born on March 1st, 1953 in Brampton Ontario. He was the child of John Arnott Charlton and Dorthy Jean Charlton who have since passed.
- On October 8th, 1977, Douglas married Marlena Charlton (Rego) who was his partner in life and soul mate. Together they had two children, Bruce Charlton (Kristen) and Amanda Bourden (Kyle). He had four beautiful grandchildren; Brayden Charlton, Kailyn Charlton, River Bourden and Rhys Bourden.
- In July 2022, Douglas retired after 45 years in the plumbing wholesale industry. Upon retirement, Douglas and Marlena moved to Orillia, where they spent time with family and friends, boating and enjoying life up north.
- Friends and family would agree, Douglas was always there to lend a hand or shoulder to rest on.
- The world is noticeably a much smaller place without Douglas here. There is a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
- As Doug would say "THERE IS NO FINISH LINE" so we know he is forever with us.
We all love you Iron Husband, Iron Dad and Iron Grandfather.
- A visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 18th from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton.
- In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital (https://www.osmh.on.ca/) or Diabetes Canada (https://www.diabetes.ca/).
