Dorothy Williams

Williams- Dorothy
Peacefully on the morning of December 17, 2011, Dorothy Mary Hewson
(nee Sparrow) Williams, heard the Lord's call and faithfully followed to take
her rightful place in her eternal heavenly home. Dorothy greeted each new
day with a smile on her face, and at the age of 94, it goes without saying, that
her life was one well "lived".
A very loving and nurturing mother to Earl & Lydia Williams and "Sandy"
and Ferd Schermel. A Proud and supportive "Nanny" to Rebecca, Ben,
"Katie", Justin, Stephanie and Mary. Sister to surviving brother Tommy
Sparrow &(Randy) as well as sister-in-law to Les Ure and to Norrine
Sparrow. Dear friend to Dita Schermel and a special mother/grandmother to
the entire Schermel family. She will also be greatly missed by her many
nieces and nephews and their families. Predecesed by her husband of almost
40 years Earl Sylvester Williams, her parents Herbert "Bert" and Eva
Rae Hewson Sparrow, and her 7 other siblings, Kae, Isabel, Grace, Hazel,
Olive, "Herbie" and Noni.
Dorothy embraced every aspect of her life, she was a devoted Christian with
an unwavering faith, and had the ability to see beauty in even the smallest of
God's creations. Her greatest worldly joy however, was her family, for whom
she shared her own unique and special blend of wisdom, pride, gentleness
and unconditional love. She cherished her visits with old friends, but also had
the amazing ability to instantly bond with others, and thus formed numerous
friendships with many of her family's friends, as well. She will be greatly
missed by all the lives she touched.
Visitation for Dorothy will be from 12 - 2pm on Thursday December 29,
2011, followed by a service to celebrate her remarkable life at 2pm at the
WARD FUNERAL HOME - 52 Main Street South, Brampton. Internment
will then follow at the Churchville Cemetery - where she will finally be laid
to rest beside her husband.
As a alternate expression of sympathy for Dorothy, donations can be made
