Dorothy Anne (Clint) Marten, 59, passed away peacefully at 11:22 pm the evening of March 14th, 2020, surrounded by her children and loved ones. She joins her eldest son Jeff Micallef, and her husband Barry Marten in heaven.
Anne was born April 22nd 1960, in Toronto, Ontario, she joined her forever family of Irene and William Clint along with their son Earl in October of the same year. She met her best friend of 55 years while in this home, Suzanne Micallef lived right down the street from the family and was there for Anne through to her last breath.
She discovered the love of her life in a hockey arena while wearing a Philadelphia Flyers jersey which she had stolen from her son, Jeff, earlier that morning to impress this man. They had their first date on April 1st, 1998, and it's said that it was "the best April fool's joke ever". They got engaged while she was in the middle of making chicken cutlets and were married September 7, 2002.
Two families have been blended since and Anne is survived by her children Ryan "Jojo" (Heather), Lisa (Ryan "George"), Linda (Jeff), Shane (Brianna), Karianne (Adam), her grandchildren Madison, Lucas, Aiden, Julianna, Jackson, and Blake, along with many other extended family and friends that we're considered family.
So many people called Anne Mum, Mom, MA, mama, but few had the honour of actually being raised by someone with such a great heart. Anne was brought up by two loving parents who instilled the value of strength and love in a family which she later engrained in her own children. Humour, sarcasm, and long running inside jokes are what made Anne who she was and what brought, and kept, so many amazing people into her life.
She spent her remaining years in a house full of love and laughter being cared for by her children and visited by loved ones often. She was always "okay" but we knew she was more than okay, she was happy, she was comfortable, and she was loved.
Thank you everyone for the overwhelming amount of love and support. A celebration of life will follow shortly.
