Doris Margaret "Peggy" Jackson

Doris “Peggy” Jackson passed away on March 26, 2015, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada at age 94. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 5, 1920 to Evan and Doris Macrae. She had one older brother, Ewan Macrae (deceased). In 1943, she married George E. P. Jackson with whom she spent 56 wonderful years until he passed away in May 2000. Those left to celebrate her life include her three children and their spouses: Paul and Cristina Jackson, Anne and Nigel (deceased) Common and Diana and David Macfarlane; her three granddaughters and their spouses: Susan and Tyler Duncan, Heather and Matthew Bast and Tory and Scott Stevens; and her seven great-grandchildren: Abby and Mia Duncan, Ava, Nolan, Emma and Leah Bast and Easton Stevens.
Peggy lived most of her life in Buenos Aires Argentina. She moved to England for her schooling in 1931, returning to Argentina in 1937. She graduated from secretarial college and worked as an administrative assistant for most of her life. She went on to become the Executive Assistant to the Vice-President and later President & CEO of Chrysler Argentina. When Paul and Diana moved to Canada and Anne to England, George and Peggy decided to immigrate to Canada so they could be near two of their children and have easy access to trips to England to visit Anne.
Peggy continued working as an Executive Assistant for a large Canadian company until she retired at the age of 73, after which, George and her enjoyed many years of playing golf, travelling to visit Anne and thoroughly enjoying time with their grandchildren. After George passed away, she moved into an independent living apartment at the Holland Christian Homes in Brampton, Ontario where she remained until December 3, 2014. She was an avid volunteer in the feeding and walking programs, visited and encouraged those in the nursing home and headed up the volunteers for the foot care program, always encouraging people to look to God for their help; she was also a passionate prayer warrior for her family and friends.
Peggy was tireless in giving of her time and resources to her family and friends knowing that helping others also gave purpose to her life. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone despite the unremitting arthritic pain she had to endure during her last few years. She never complained!!
Her family will miss her greatly but know that she is in Heaven enjoying a life without pain.
