“Too loved by us to ever be forgotten”
Doreen was born to Alexander Taylor and Doris Taylor and raised in Scarborough the elder of two daughters. Doreen earned her M.A from the University of Western Ontario and then went on to complete her B.Ed. from the University of Toronto. Doreen began teaching with the Peel board of education in 1972 as an English teacher. During her time teaching she earned the Marshall McLuhan Distinguished Teacher Award. Doreen’s Love for travel and the Arts lead her to create an innovative student exchange program to Copenhagen, Denmark. Her most recent assignment was as the Principle of Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School in Mississauga and retired at the end of the 2014 School Year.
She leaves devoted and supportive husband Thomas, much loved children Kendra Danielle and Cameron Thomas. Doreen also will be so missed by her mother Doris Taylor, sister Ramona Fraser (Doug) and niece Amanda Leigh. Doreen was predeceased by her daughter Milo.
At her home in Brampton as per her wishes early in the morning of Monday, June 29, 2015 our dear Doreen slipped away from us.
Those wishing to pay their respects can do so at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton (52 Main Street South) on Wednesday July 8th, from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers there will be a scholarship fund created that will be awarded to graduating students from Peel Alternative School North. The Family would like to sincerely thank the Palliative care givers and dear friends that came to our home and provided such wonderful support.
