Donald Charles Peneycad

Donald Charles Peneycad, 92, went home to be with his Lord, on June 14, 2025. He was a faithful husband, a great father, and a friend to many.

Donald was born to Alfred and Daisy (Tugwell) Peneycad on October 3, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario. He graduated from Vaughan Road Collegiate, leading to an initial job in banking and then 40 years at Kodak Canada. Donald married Joyce Elsie Moore on May 22, 1954, who remained the love of his life for over 70 years.

Donald was a man of deep faith, which led him to devote his time and talents as a leader at Westmount Park Church, serving on the Elder Board and Finance Committee, as a worship leader, and many other capacities. Beyond investing in his local church, he was a strong supporter of various missions ministries, including: Fair Havens Bible Conference, Men for Missions, OMS International, Crossworld, and Compassion International. Donald was a world traveler who enjoyed visiting extended family in England and serving on missions trips to various countries/continents. Having toured with the Air Cadets marching band as a teen, his love for instrumental and vocal music continued throughout his life. Donald lived a long, independent, and abundant life and will be deeply missed.

Donald was preceded in death by Joyce, his brother Alfred, and his parents. He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Brian (Diane), David (Jori), Ron (Pauline), and John (Elizabeth), as well as his 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home (Weston) from 2 - 5 p.m. on August 17th. A celebration of Donald’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on August 18th at Capstone Community Bible Church, 763 Royal York Rd, Etobicoke. The family will greet visitors before the service. Light refreshments will be served at a reception afterwards.
