On Good Friday morning, March 29, 2024, former Toronto radio legend and great radio voice , Big Don Biefer peacefully passed away at Grace Manor, Holland Christian Homes, in Brampton, Ontario.

Don was predeceased by his beloved parents, Dorothy and Ernie Biefer.   He is so sadly missed by his loving sister, Susan, brother-in-law John Fennell and his nephews, Michael and Joseph Fennell, whom he adored.   Don loved and cherished his family and he was a very proud Uncle.

His giant heart and forever upbeat, positive and outgoing personality will be missed by all who knew him.  Don impacted so many lives, and leaves behind many many good friends and cousins near and far.

"Big Don Biefer" 's professional broadcast radio career spanned two decades from 1968 to 1988 at radio stations on both the AM and FM dials, including CKLB in Oshawa, CJSS in Cornwall, CHIC in Brampton, CKLC in Kingston as Promotion Director, CKFH in Toronto, WOLF in Syracuse, NY, CHAM in Hamilton and CFTR in Toronto.   He finished his radio career at "The Super 680" and Burlington's FM Oldies Station, CING FM108.  

After leaving radio, Don founded and managed a successful professional disc jockey business - Pro DJ Service, for over 20 years. 

  In 2016 Don was recognized by the Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association (CPDJA) with a Lifetime Achievement Award for 48 years of extraordinary service as a Broadcast and Special Event Disc Jockey from 1968-2016.

He is fondly remembered by fellow members of "The Monday Nighters", a gathering of retired radio industry professionals.

Don always expressed his gratitude for his caregivers, remembering all by name.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Grace Manor, Holland Christian Homes, for the amazing care Don received.

In lieu of flowers, Don requested Memorial donations be made to the Brampton Salvation Army, or to St Pauls United Church, Brampton.

Dons wishes were that he be cremated and his cremated remains be interred with his parents at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton.

A private celebration of Don's life will be held in the future.
