GABRIELE, Domenico - April 3, 1922, Sora, FR, Italy - March 12, 2013, Toronto, ON, Canada It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and father-in-law, Domenico Gabriele. Domenico came to Canada from Sora, Italy in 1955 with his wife Anna and their children, Giuliana and Vera, hoping to provide his young family with the opportunity for a better life. Domenico proudly embraced Canada as his new home and welcomed three more children, Robert, Sandra and Joanne. Over the years, he was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren (and 2 more on the way.) A cabinet maker by trade, he had a great work ethic and enjoyed his job as a construction project manager for Goldlist Construction, for many years. What he valued most in life was spending time with his loved ones and at the time of his death he was surrounded by all four generations of his immediate family. We have lost our patriarch (dad, papa, dedy, nonno, Miniguccio) and as he referred to himself, "Lu King." It is fitting at this time to close with a phrase that he would repeat, often, in the last few years when saying good bye after a visit, "Ci vediamo quando stiamo insieme." Friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, "Woodbridge Chapel", 4671 Hwy. 7 (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), on Sunday, from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Roch's Catholic Parish, 2889 Islington Ave., North York, on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. Entombment at Glendale Cemetery, Toronto.
