Yeo, Desmond Elmer
It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Desmond Yeo, on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Loving husband of Doris Yeo (nee Noye), for 53 years, and devoted father to Clayton Yeo (Bernie), Brenda Lever (John) and Marcia Werkhoven (Rick), and grandfather to Todd Youden, Bradley Yeo, Abby Lever, Richard Yeo, Andrew Lever, Stephen Lever, Douglas Yeo, Matthew Werkhoven, Jessica Yeo, and Sarah Werkhoven, and great grandfather to Addyson Yeo and Zachery Yeo. Beloved brother-in-law of Edgar (predeceased) Norma and Wayne, Judy and Chester, Sylvia and Charlie, Lil and Jerry, Robert and Pat, Marjorie and Wayne, Linda and Jackie, Donna and Ronnie, David and Glenn, Carol and Ross. Desmond was born December 29, 1938 in Harmony, Prince Edward Island, to Clayton and Bertha Yeo. Desmond and Doris, moved to Toronto as young newlyweds, to start their family, while maintaining strong ties with friends and family in Prince Edward Island. Desmond has been very active in his retirement, traveling, with family, spending time at his favorite Brampton club, Rutherford Bingo, and cherishing his time with his wife, Doris and friends.
Desmond will be deeply missed by all, for his love of life, his rich sense of humor and his devotion to family. Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton, ON Thursday, November 3, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00, with funeral services to be held at St. Paul’s United Church, 30 Main Street, South, Brampton, ON on Friday, November 4 at 1:00 pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
