Obituary

At the age of 90, a legend and a giant with a fighting spirit has left this world. From a rural town in Samos, Greece and tempered through hardship, Demetre travelled the world over, crossing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans by ship many times over. Eventually, making his way to Canada with nothing more than hardened determination and an unbreakable spirit.

He carved out a dream and a life for himself from nothing, found the woman of his dreams, raised five children, and built his family home with his bare hands.

Demetre belonged to a generation of men who simply do not exist any longer - a generation of seekers, of builders, of fighters, who dared all odds and conquered their prize at any cost. A warrior in character, a giant in presence, and a legend to all who knew him, he lived with honor, love, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy is hammered not in stone, but in the lives of those he raised and inspired. And while his journey has ended and he is now been given eternal life, for all of still here may his name, his example, and his legend endure for generations. And may his memory be ever eternal.
