With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Dimitra Valmas (Chreppas).
Born on December 10, 1949, Dimitra was the third child of George and Konstantina. Raised in Kamari, Messinia, Greece alongside her siblings Georgia (John), Giannoula (Demetre), Thanassy (Gina), Foti, and Grigori (Maria), she carried the warmth of her village and her family with her throughout her life. In 1970, she began a new chapter in Canada, where she soon met the love of her life, Dimitri. Together they raised their three children, Kosta, Martha (Theo), and Mary (Eddy).Dimitra will be remembered for her vibrant, fiery personality, and the joy she brought into every room. She had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and an even greater gift for making them feel like family. Like her mother before her, she expressed love through food, always insisting that no one leave her home hungry, and often sending them off with more. Her circle of loved ones was wide, and each person felt special in her presence.
Above all, Dimitra’s greatest joy was her family, including her children, her niece Tina, and especially her grandchildren. Julia, Silvio, Constantine, and Elena were the light of her life, and she would do anything for them. Her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her greatgranddaughter, Lenna Dimitra, whom she loved dearly. Those fortunate enough to know Dimitra knew her kindness, her generosity, and her pathos for life. She gave freely, loved deeply, and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.
