Garrett, David Robert

Passed away at home in the early morning of Thursday December 27, 2012 after a brief struggle with cancer at the age of 64 years. Predeceased by his first wife Shirley Garrett, his sister Janice Garrett, his mother Jean Garrett and his father Gary Garrett, David was the beloved husband of Fran Garrett, brother of Nancy Adelman, father of Brandon (Jessica Campo) and Stephan Garrett, and proud grandfather of Ava.

David joined the Toronto office of Cushman & Wakefield Office Leasing group over 40 years ago and capped his career with the title of Senior Vice-President Office Leasing. David was awarded the President’s Round Table Award 27 times in his career and was a recipient of the Award of Excellence. In 2002, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. David was a stalwart of the industry and respected by the entire community.

David was a great friend with a profound love for life. As a story teller, fisherman, horse lover, avid gardener and art collector, he brought a passion and enthusiasm that will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Wednesday January 2nd, 2013 at 1:30p.m. at Walton Memorial United Church, 2489 Lakeshore Rd., West, Oakville. A reception will follow the service.
