Dana Winder

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dana on March 17th, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Howard Winder (1998) after 40 years of marriage. Dana was born on November 8th, 1935 in Nobleton, Ontario to the late Howard and Nell Dobson. She is survived by her two brothers, Tom Dobson (late Lynn) Joan Montgomery, Ed Dobson (Eleanor) and her nephew David (Sonya), nieces Julie Stewart (John), Jill Dobson, Jayne Dobson, Diana Dobson (Wilf), Kristine Dobson (Greg), Debra Dobson (Alf). She is also survived by many Dobson great nieces and nephew; plus many Winder nieces and nephews.

Dana attended Nobleton public school and then graduated in 1953 from Weston Collegiate Institute. After working at several companies, Dana joined Labatt Breweries of Canada in 1971. During that time she went to York University as a mature student in the evenings and graduated with a B.A in 1990. Dana retired from Labatt's in 2000 and started as a volunteer in the NICU at Sick Kids Hospital where she remained for over 19 years.

Dana has been a member of the Weston Golf & Country Club since 1964 where she enjoyed curling and lately as a social member. She is on the Executive Committee of the Weston Collegiate Alumni Foundation. Dana enjoyed gardening, both at her home in Weston and at the family farm where she grew up, plus social activities with her many friends.
