ANDERSEN, DAN

Peacefully at home on October 4th, 2014 at the age of 68 years with his beloved wife of 28 years, Barbara (nee Hall) at his side. Sadly missed by his mother Birgit, and predeceased by his father Ove. Lovingly remembered by his brothers Bjorn (Rozanne), Ulf (Linda), Finn, and sister Rigmor (Gary) Glen. Also by David (Maureen) Hall, Marion (Michael) Hamilton, Virginia (Keith) Wilson and Mary Catherine Lee (predeceased by Graham). He will always be in the heart of his 17 nieces and nephews, and 5 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom he had a special connection with.

He was proud of his successful career at IBM Canada, and went on to foster several entrepreneurial ventures, and then founded Preference North America (Building Envelope Software Technologies). He had a relish for life, a great sense of humour right to the end, and demonstrated his courage, strength, compassion and keen insight to all who knew him.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Wednesday, October 8th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Central United Church,1 King Street, Weston, Ontario on Thursday, October 9th at 11:00 a.m.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to The Outreach Program of The Freeman Centre for the Advancement of Palliative Care (4001 Leslie Street, Toronto), or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
