Corrado Ficicchia passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 13, 2025 at Hill House Hospice. He was born on March 7, 1938, in Catania, Sicily, Italy.

Cherished husband of Vera for sixty-seven wonderful years. Loving father of Irene and her husband Renzo. Proud nonno of Alyssa (Mark) and Andre (Christina). Fondly remembered by his brother Bruno (late Maria) and his family.

Corrado arrived in Canada to join Vera on a cold December day in 1957, wearing his infamous green suit. They married on February 15, 1958 and welcomed their daughter Irene years later.

Throughout his life, Corrado worked tirelessly for his family…spending 40+ years at Loblaws, picking some of the finest produce for their customers. He tended to his garden with such pride and effort. Both Corrado and his brother Bruno would pride themselves on their gardening techniques and who may have tweaked it better for that season.

Corrado was a gentle soul who never spoke negatively. His kind manner and patient demeanour was admirable and his family will always cherish his caring ways. There is a void that is left behind but the legacy of Corrado will continue to keep his memory alive.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10 am from St. Paschal Baylon Church (92 Steeles Ave. West, Thornhill). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
