Corrado Ficicchia passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 13, 2025 at Hill House Hospice. He was born on March 7, 1938, in Catania, Sicily, Italy.

Cherished husband of Vera for sixty-seven beautiful years, Corrado was the heart of his family, a devoted partner, loving father, and proud nonno. He leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories with his beloved daughter Irene and her husband Renzo, and his adored grandchildren Alyssa (Mark) and Andre (Christina). He will be fondly remembered by his brother Bruno (late Maria) and his family.

Corrado's journey brought him to Canada on a wintry December day in 1957, wearing his legendary green suit, to reunite with his beloved Vera. They were married on February 15, 1958, and together built a life filled with love, resilience, and quiet joy. Years later, they welcomed their daughter Irene.

A man of unwavering dedication, Corrado worked more than four decades with Loblaws, carefully selecting the finest produce, a reflection of his pride in his work. At home, he found solace in his garden, nurturing each plant with care and precision. Gardening was not just a pastime but a point of pride, a shared passion with his brother Bruno, as each compared their growing seasons.

Gentle, kind, and humble, Corrado never spoke an unkind word. His patience and goodness touched everyone who knew him. He gave his love freely and quietly, in thoughtful deeds and enduring support. Though his passing leaves a deep void, the legacy of his warmth, grace, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10 am from St. Paschal Baylon Church (92 Steeles Ave. West, Thornhill). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In gratitude for the care and comfort Corrado received in his final days, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in his name to Hill House Hospice.
