It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Concettina Cammarata (née Greco), on September 14, 2026, at the age of 91.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Antonio, and her dear son-in-law, Mario, whom was very close to her heart.

Concettina was a devoted mother to Paula, Alfonso (Maria), and Rosetta (Dhru). She was a cherished Nonna to Ida and John-Paul (Ashley), and a proud Bisnonna to Gabriel, Milena, Angelia, Matteo, and Anthony.

Concettina has been predeceased by her loving parents Rosa and Francesco, and her dear sister Carmela. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Matteo (Gina), Lilla (late Vincenzo), Giuseppina (Giuseppe), Tony (Silvana) and will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Her journey began far from here in a small town in Sicily, Ribera. At the age of 30, she left everything she knew and embarked on a new life in Canada with her husband Antonio and two small children—Paula and Alfonso. A little while later, Rosetta, her third child was born. The dreams and sacrifices Concettina and Antonio made were for the future of their children.

When her beloved husband died it left a void that was incredibly difficult to fill. But even with that profound loss, she never gave up. She remained the rock of the family, and the heart of the home. She touched the heart of everyone she knew, in one way, or another. Whether it was with her generous spirit, warm heart, decadent cooking or delicious baking (spingi, impignolatti, fig cookies, cobbata and pignolata).

Family and friends were at the heart of Concettina’s life. She was a warm, fun-loving, and vibrant woman, whose laughter and joyful spirit brought happiness to those around her. Her lively personality and love for her family created countless memories that will be treasured by those who knew and loved her.

Concettina will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her love, laughter, and beautiful memories will remain in their hearts forever.

May she rest peacefully, reunited with those she loved.
