Concepcion Ugalde peacefully passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on December 8, 1927, she lived a long, meaningful life devoted to faith, family, and service to others.
Concepcion was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Ugalde. Together, they built a family rooted in love, hard work, and deep Catholic faith. A committed and devout Catholic, she lived her life guided by prayer, humility, and compassion.
She was the proud and devoted mother of nine children; Lucita Ugalde (married to Adolfo Ragos), Estrella Ugalde (married to Arturo San Miguel), Virginia Ugalde (married to Eduardo Ahyong), Angelito Ugalde (married to Emerlinda Celestino), Nestor Ugalde (preceded her in death), Flordeliza Ugalde (married to Federico Mateo), Rolando Ugalde (married to Lorna Ilagan), Wilfredo Ugalde (married to Ana Marie Igonia), and Maria Cristina Ugalde (married to Todd Humphries).
Concepcion’s love extended across generations. She is lovingly remembered by her 17 grandchildren: Tina Marie Ragos (married to Kelvin Mahadeo), Edward Dee Ahyong (married to Vi Nguyen), Earl Anthony Ugalde, Ronald Ray Ragos, Vida Lou Ahyong (married to Troy Morris), Art Lesther San Miguel, Gary Lloyd Ugalde, Krista San Miguel (married to Christopher Urrutia), Frederick Andrew Mateo, Jessica Joy Ragos, Anthony Cass Ugalde, Flordelise Megan Mateo (married to Andy Le), Matthew James Ugalde, Allyson Marie Ugalde, Cassandra Victoria Ugalde, Nicole Grace De Guzman, and Michael John De Guzman.
She also leaves behind eight cherished great-grandchildren: Gabriella Marie Jofre, Michelle Anne Jofre, Nicholas Brees Urrutia, Katie Linh Ahyong, Isabella Reese Urrutia, Derek Bryce Ahyong, Zaida Sylvina Mahadeo, and Solana Morris.
Concepcion was renowned for her kindness, generosity, and selflessness. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family, not only raising her children but also lovingly caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever she was needed.
A hardworking and resourceful woman, she was also a dedicated entrepreneur. For ten years, she sold fish and traded fresh vegetables grown from their own plantation at the market—an endeavor that reflected her resilience, determination, and commitment to providing for her family.
Concepcion will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
May she rest in eternal peace.
