Passed away peacefully in her 100th year on Saturday August 22, 2026. Devoted wife of the late Francesco, the love of her life, with whom she is now reunited. She met Francesco by chance through a mutual acquaintance when Francesco made his way across town to meet the young Clorinda whose friend had spoken so highly of.
Proud and supporting mother, friend and confidant to her loving daughter, Rosaria; and son, Luca in whose loving arms pressed to his broken and aching heart she took her last breath and passed.
Born in the small town of Scigliano Cosenza, Italy to loving parents Guiseppe Astorino and Giulietta Pallone. Clorinda was the third of four children: Settina, Guerino, and Gemma to whom she reached out; as well as to her dear sister-in-law, Anina, in weakened and bated breath for weeks before the death.
Clorinda lived a full and vibrant life. She loved keeping an immaculate house, knitting, gardening, and taking long walks with her many loving friends. An enthusiastic world traveller; she enjoyed memorable journeys through Europe, Mexico, South America, Egypt, the Caribbean, across Canada and to many of the United States.
A warm and wonderful social butterfly with a remarkable gift for friendship, love and zest for life. She was blessed with a large circle of loving and cherished friends. She will be remembered for her love of family, joy for life, sharing and giving kind disposition and the many lasting connections she made through a century all of whom she missed as she saw them pass leaving an empty and unfilled void in her huge and loving heart.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Thank you, mom, for your: long, healthy, strong, giving, abundant, vibrant, energetic, and joyful life animated and embodied by God as His temple of renewal, sanctuary of strength, vessel to His Glory of living a life of Heaven on Earth; now, anointed, accompanied and returned by all of the angles back to the fullness of Love, the Source of all of Creation who with teary eyes, on bended knee, with open arms has called you with bated breath for three weeks to “ari upa” close the circle, return, complete His Love for you - Your Last and Final Breath!
Welcome Home, mamma, and Happy 100th from Luke’s arms now enfolded in God’s long-awaited arms: your century long health, your smile, your generosity, strength; your joy of life, your legacy and Love given to all on earth and now returned back whole as originally given and now taken by Earth's Original and Creative Force, paid in full, complete - Your Final and Last Breath!
Way to go, invite, call them all; and thank you, Mamma!
