It is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Clara Campanelli (née Maione), on May 23, 2026, at the age of 71. Born in Toronto, Ontario, on April 4, 1955, to Michele and Ida. Clara lived a life centered around love and family.
Clara and Joseph were married in 1972 and built a beautiful life together grounded in their love for their family. Together they raised their children, George (Natalina) and Lori (Sam), who were the pride and joy of her life. Clara was an incredibly proud and loving Nonna to Matthew, Joseph, Alexander, and Julian, and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a devoted and caring sister to Atillo (Margaret), Francis (Albert), Mario (Adelle), and Liliana (Chris), and a dear sister-in-law to Nick (Anna), Claire (Michael, predeceased), and Josephine (Eddie). Clara will also be deeply missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Clara had a vibrant and spirited personality that could never be forgotten. She was outgoing, outspoken, warm, and endlessly talkative, always ready for a conversation. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, vacationing in Mexico, shopping trips, relaxing evenings watching television, and most of all, being surrounded by her family. Her presence filled every room with energy, warmth, and love, and the memories she created with those she loved will be treasured forever.
If desired, memorial donations may be made in Clara's name to Diabetes Canada.
