Charles Cyr

Peacefully after a lengthy illness at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Monday, June 6, 2011 Charles was in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Edith for 25 years. Predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (1984). Loving father of Ben (Mae) of Airdrie, Alberta, Micky (Darlene) of Schumacher, Ontario, Dan of Courtney, B.C., Pat Stearns (Wayne) of South Porcupine, Ontario, and Richard (Maxine) of Schumacher, Ontario. Step-daughter Bev Smith (Dan) of Mississauga. Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Survived by brother Victor of Lebanon, Missouri, and by sisters-in-law Isobel McCandless (Dave) and Carol Wilson. Predeceased by his mother Anna Cyr. Charles was with the Canadian Armed Forces “Airborne Division” for 21 years. The family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, Ontario on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held from the chapel on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery, Oakville. Legion service will be held from the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
