It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Hariklia Sotiropoulos, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Hariklia was born in Megalopolis, Greece, to Efstathios and Panagiota Liakopoulos. She was one of nine siblings. Her beloved sisters, Sophia and Vasiliki, whom she loved with all her heart, along with her, many nieces and nephews, will remember her as a source of kindness, encouragement and loving guidance.
Hariklia immigrated to Canada in 1972. It was here that she met the love of her life, Nikitas Sotiropoulos, and together they built a life founded on love, faith, and unwavering devotion to family. They shared 50 beautiful years of marriage, an example to all who knew them.
A proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Hariklia raised her four children - Titsa (George), Bill (Helen), Efstathia, and Anna - with boundless love, patience and wisdom. Her love for her children was deep and unwavering and that love only multiplied with the arrival of her seven cherished grandchildren, Elias, Theodore, Leia, Athena, Nikita, Joseph, and Sam - who were the crown of her Joy, filling her life with light and laughter.
Hariklia was the heart and foundation of our family, a woman whose kindness, strength, and quiet faith shaped us all. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, always ready to share a home-cooked meal, a treasured recipe, or gentle words of advice. Her kitchen was not only a place of nourishment but of love, laughter and life lessons.
Above all, Hariklia was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She lived a Christ-centered life rooted in her love for God. She was humble, compassionate and faithful. Her devotion shaped every aspect of her life and she faced life's challenges with courage, grace and unwavering belief in God's plan.
Hariklia was loved beyond measure, as a wife, mother, yiayia, sister, aunt and friend. She was our greatest blessing and her absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives. Zoe mourn her passing, we are comforted by the hope of the Resurrection and the promise of eternal life. We know that her love, her faith and her beautiful example will continue to guide and inspire us always.
May her memory be eternal. Αιωνία η μνήμη της.
