Celestino (Mike) Durante

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Celestino “Mike” Durante on September 16, 2025, at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of Angelina Durante. Devoted father of Pat (David) and Paul (Eva). Dear brother to Jack (Pat). Cherished Nonno to Andrew (Samantha), Alexander (Rachel), Stephanie, and Michael, and adored by his great-grandchildren, Luca, Victoria, and Sofia.

Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He kept his loved ones grounded and was always there to lend a helping hand. Few people truly possess a heart of gold, and Mike was undoubtedly one of them. Whether you knew him as Celestino, Mike, or “Charlie,” you knew a man whose kindness, generosity, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was our rock, the steady, loving head of our table. He instilled values and lessons in each of us that we will carry forward throughout our lives, and we find comfort in knowing that a part of him will live on in our actions, both great and small.

His warmth and gentle guidance shaped our family and will remain forever in our hearts. We will remember him always with gratitude, love, and the countless memories that bind us to him.

Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home – Weston Chapel (2035 Weston Road) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025. Funeral Mass at St. Bernard de Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church (1789 Lawrence Avenue West) on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10 a.m., followed by entombment at Glendale Memorial Gardens (1810 Albion Road.
