Cecil A. Warner (Cec)
November 23, 1919 – January 15, 2012
After a productive and long life, and following several hospitalizations, a good man and great Dad has gone to join our beloved Mum, Helen. He will always be loved by his children, Arnie (the Late Kathy), Bill (Gaye), Rose (Phil) and his long time care giver Sandy. Devoted Papa and Grandpa to Cindy, Erin, Chris, Angela (Scott), Jeff, Steve (Jeff) and Samantha. He was thrilled to be a Great Grandfather and Papa to Meaghan, Teanna and Caleb. Cecil is also survived by his brothers Wilfred (Francis), Ron and his adoring sister Vina (Pat).
Cecil was one of nine children born to modest means in the Cornwall area. After the war, he moved to Toronto where he met and married a wee Scottish lassie named Helen. Together they raised their four children in the Downsview area. He was a long time employee of the Department of National Defence. He also had his own business to help pay the bills. He had the many skills of a handyman and lived in and maintained his own house until the end.
Stubborn and strong-willed always, he lived his life his own way. His trademark cap, bomber jacket and suspenders as well as his sense of humour and generosity will be missed by all. He has likely already started a Euchre game with those he loved to play cards with.
Rest in peace Dad, you are with Mum now. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
