Passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 10, 2026 at the age of 83.

Proud mother of Ricardo (Barbara), Luis and Alicia (Kensy). Cherished Grandma Caby of Ariel (Chelsea), Ana (Leo), Belen (Nate), Gerardo (Lara), Maryury (David), Rebekah, Jessica (AJ), Jonathan, Joseph, Joy, Jose, Maria, Alicia, Dani and Gerard, Loving Great Grandmother of Mateo, Arlette, Keyla, Jonah, Ezequiel, Teddy, Zachary, Esteban and Jackelin. Dear sister of Susana and Mario Chan.

Carmen was born in Chimaltenango, Guatemala to loving parents Jose and Maria Chan. 

Carnen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cherishing the moments filled with love, laughter and meaningful conversation.  She found great joy in listening to worship music and spending time in prayer, which were important parts of her life. Carmen also appreciated the beauty in everyday things-pastel colours, flowers, sunny days and creative expression through painting.  She had a love for cultural foods and enjoyed treating herself to jewellery, manicures and pedicures.  Known for her warm spirit and sense of humour, Carmen brought smiles to those around her with jokes and joyful laughter.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Friday March 20th from 5-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
