In Loving Memory of Carlos Alberto Mendes Antunes
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Carlos Antunes on June 11, 2026, at the age of 75.
Carlos was predeceased by his loving parents Antonio and Irene. He was the beloved brother to Manuela, Ana, Rui, Lurdes and Tony and predeceased by siblings Henrique, Teresa and Pedro. Cherished and loving uncle to Andrea and many nieces and nephews in Portugal. He will also be deeply missed by his many extended family members and dear friends throughout Canada and Portugal, whose lives he touched with his friendship, generosity, and sense of humour.
Carlos found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved hunting, preparing meals for those he cared about, cheering on his beloved Benfica, and gathering with family and friends. Whether sharing a story, a laugh, or a meal, he had a way of making people feel welcome and valued.
Above all, Carlos treasured the time he spent with those he loved. The memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Although our hearts are saddened by his passing, we are grateful for the years, memories, and moments we were blessed to share with him.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Dorothy Ley Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
