Carlo Sartor

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Carlo Sartor on January 30, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on September 30, 1959, in Toronto, Ontario, to Antonio and Piacenza Sartor, Carlo carried his family roots with deep pride and grew into a man widely known for his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was a devoted older brother to Luciano (Annette).

Those who knew Carlo knew a man whose heart seemed to have no limits. Gentle, generous, and endlessly caring, he had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued, remembered, and deeply loved. Carlo showed up fully and consistently for the people in his life, ensuring no one ever felt overlooked or alone.

Above all else, Carlo was an exceptional and devoted father. His children were always at the center of his world. He leaves behind his beloved children Angelina (Jared), Anthony (Jessica), and Shannon (Jordan), and his love for them knew no bounds. He was also a proud grandfather to (Anastasia, Scarlett, Oliver), a role he cherished deeply. Carlo remained closely connected to his children’s lives, checking in often simply to hear their voices, offer encouragement, and remind them how much they meant to him. His love was steady, attentive, and unwavering.

Carlo was also a loyal friend and a man of deep relationships. He maintained close, lifelong friendships, particularly with the people he worked alongside each day. He took great pride in his work in construction, where he could remain active, build with his hands, and stay engaged. Carlo was never one to sit idle; he found purpose in creating, fixing, and moving forward.

Known for his playful spirit, Carlo had an infectious sense of humour and a genuine love of laughter. He found joy in life’s small moments and never missed an opportunity to joke, tease, or share a story. He adored animals, especially the family cats and dogs. He had a particular fondness for Bronson the cat, whom he spoke about often with warmth and amusement. He frequently joked to family about one day living on a farm, happily caring for goats, and would often ask, “So, when are we moving to the farm?”

Carlo found peace outdoors, particularly at his trailer up north, where he enjoyed camping and spending time with friends. He also loved browsing flea markets, uncovering unique treasures, and surprising loved ones with thoughtful gifts. He had a natural eye for a great find and took genuine pleasure in giving to others.

A proud Italian at heart, Carlo had a deep love of food and gathering around the table. Pizza was a particular favourite, enjoyed with unmatched enthusiasm, and sweets; especially cannolis from the Italian bakery. His love of food was something he shared closely with his children and became another meaningful way he connected with family. Carlo loved to connect with those he loved. Sharing photos was his love language; exchanging pictures, celebrating milestones, and calling with excitement to talk about how everyone was doing brought him immense joy.

He was also a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, holding onto hope and loyalty season after season. Although he didn't like to admit it.

Although Carlo did not have the opportunity to meet his granddaughter, Adele, he already loved her deeply. The night before his passing, he spoke about how much he loved her name, saying it reminded him of an angel. He would have been an extraordinary grandfather to her, and his family will ensure that Adele grows up knowing who he was; his kindness, his laughter, and the love he had for her even before she was born.

Carlo will be remembered as a man who loved fully, laughed often, worked hard, and showed up every single day for the people who mattered most to him. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge), on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service will follow in the Ward Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m. A private family cremation will take place at a later date.
