Carl Mueller was born on April 7, 1932 in Wunschelburg, Germany and passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025 in Toronto, Canada at the age of 93.
Carl was the eldest son to the late Carl and the late Ursula Muller; sibling to the late Hubertus (and Rita) Muller, Ursula (and late Willi) Monkemeyer, the late Elmar (and Gerda) Muller, Gerald (and Olga) Muller and Roswitha (and Adelbert) Trost; and uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Carl was educated in Germany as a Horticulturalist, which brought him to and throughout Ontario at the age of 24. He worked at the City of York for 30 years, retiring as Manager of Parks and Recreation. He was a member of the Etobicoke Horticultural Society and Roselands Horticultural Society. Upon retirement, he volunteered at a public school reading to kindergarten kids and tending to the school's gardens.
Carl loved cottage life on Deer Lake in South River, a place of community, fishing and successful hunting.
Carl will be sorely missed by his wife Erika Mueller, daughter Sandra Mueller, the Mueller Family and the Hein Family.
To honour Carl's memory, there will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, November 27th from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at The Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please donate to a cause of your or Carl's affinity (Humber River Health Foundation, Etobicoke Horticultural Society, Trees for Life or Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters).
"All good things comes to an end and I will be transforming from a city slicker to a bush man to admire the nature that God has created for us." Excerpt from Carl's resignation letter to the City of York.
