Young, Campbell McAinsh
Retired, long time Air Canada Employee
July 28, 1937 – June 12, 2012
It is with great sadness that, after a brief illness, Campbell passed away peacefully at Humber River Regional Hospital. Beloved husband of Edith, for 49 years. Loving father of David. Cherished grandpa of Andrew. Predeceased by his brother David. Campbell will be greatly missed by his sister Elizabeth and her husband Peter, sister-in-law Alberta, brother and sister-in-law Alan and Gigi, his nephews Wes, Rod and Jimmy and nieces Carolyn and Joy. As one friend said recently “He was one of the gentlest people they had ever met.” Always the consummate gentleman, he will be deeply missed by all whose lives and hearts he touched and will be fondly remembered for his generous and loving spirit. Born in Scotland, he came to Canada as a young boy. While he was proud of his Scottish heritage, he was prouder still to say he was Canadian. After a long career with Air Canada, he enjoyed a happy retirement during which he and Edith traveled widely and enjoyed working in their garden. Cam loved aviation and for over twelve years worked as a volunteer for the Canadian Air and Space Museum. Our heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported us during those difficult last few weeks.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm..
A service will be held in the chapel on Saturday June 16, 2012 at 1:3opm.
Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
