With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Calvin Gillard, who passed away Friday May 15th, at the age of 82.

Calvin was a loving & devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. Known for his warmth and deepest love of family, he touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all. 

Calvin shared over 57 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Deanna Gillard, who stood by his side through life’s many chapters; whether they would be good, or bad. Love seemed to trump everything, and their love just continued to grow in the way of their love story! 

He leaves behind his son’s Gregory (Sheri) , Calvin (Laurie) and his precious grandchildren ( Kyle, Annalise, Lilly ) Calvin is now reunited with his beloved parents, Dad Elijah and Mom Rowena and his cherished 4 sisters Marie, Lill, Lucy, and Mary.

 In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. His ashes will be returned to his beloved hometown Twillingate, Newfoundland, where they will be laid to rest beside his mother and father. 

The family asks that during this difficult time you hold your loved ones close, cherish the memories you share, and ALWAYS remind those around you how much they mean to you as Calvin did throughout his life. 

Calvin will be remembered for the love he shared, the friendships he cherished, and the many memories he created with those around him. As his ashes return home to Twillingate….. “may the ocean winds carry his memory and the love of his family forever” FOREVER GONE, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN."
