In Loving Memory of Bruce Maxwell

July 3, 1927 – October 17, 2025

With heavy hearts but immense gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Bruce Maxwell, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17th 2025, at the age of 98.

Bruce was the embodiment of a life well-lived, faithful, kind, humble, and steadfast. Born on July 3, 1927, Bruce lived nearly a century marked by quiet strength, deep integrity, and unwavering devotion to his family and to God.

Predeceased by his parents Newton and Christena, Bruce was an only child but spent most of his time at his Williamson grandparents farm in Sonya, Ontario and with his Maxwell grandparents at their store located in Toronto.

Bruce was the beloved husband of Ruth Maxwell, his sweetheart for 71 years. What started as a blind date, their marriage blossomed into a shining example of enduring love, grace, and partnership. Together, they built a life rooted in faith and family, nurturing generations with love, laughter, and timeless wisdom. Together, they were snow birds spending half of their time in Tucson, Arizona and built a wonderful community in Tucson Estates for over 20 years.

Bruce was a proud and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the steady center of our grateful family. His children and grandchildren knew him as a gentle encourager, a man who led by example, and the king of witty one liners.

A devoted Christian, Bruce lived his faith daily. He served faithfully in his church and community, always the first to lend a hand, offer a prayer, or share a word of comfort. He believed in the power of kindness and forgiveness, and he walked through life with a quiet dignity that made everyone feel at home in his presence. He was commonly referred to as our earth angel.

He is survived by his loving wife Ruthie, his children Christy and Brian, grandchildren Danielle (Sal), Justin (Jennifer), Brittany (Jake) and Jordan (Morgan), great-grandchildren Avery, Carson, Zoey, Carlos, Jaxson, Jahvon, James and Luca and incredible family and friends who cherish his memory. Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice knowing he is now at peace, reunited with loved ones gone before him, and wrapped in the eternal embrace of his Savior.

The family would like to thank the amazing team at Aspira Bolton Mills for the compassionate care and memories they have provided Bruce and our family.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home in Woodbridge, Ontario (4671 Hwy 7) on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a celebration of Bruce’s life to follow at 12 p.m. where we will honor the remarkable man he was and the incredible life he lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Diabetes Association of Canada as Bruce was type 1 diabetic for 82 years. Additionally, Donations in memory of Bruce can be made to the Salvation Army church, his final place of worship

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
