Bernice Cote, 94, of Brampton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was the devoted wife of Ron Cote, with whom she shared over 74 years of love and partnership.
Faith, family, and generosity were the cornerstones of Bernice’s life. She cherished God, her beloved husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren above all else. Known for her vibrant competitive spirit, she achieved Master level in Bridge and proudly won numerous golf club championships. Bernice was also a gifted seamstress, sharing her talents freely with family and friends.
Her commitment to living as a child of God was evident in her tireless service to the Brampton community. Through organizing countless fundraisers for local charities, she exemplified the virtue of generosity and left an enduring mark on all who knew her.
Bernice is survived by her loving husband, Ron, whom she married on July 14, 1951. She was the cherished mother of five children and their spouses: Rhonda Wood (Paul), Dennis (Darlene), Mary Reis (Mario), Lise Willard (Doug), and April Krikorian (Greg). She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Carter.
She was the proud “Nana” to 19 grandchildren—Laura, Jeff (Tara), Ronnie, Rob, Danielle (Matt), Michelle (Randy), Matthew (Irena), Melanie (Patrick), Justin (Val), Kyle, Nicole (Troy), Ryan, Joel (Abbey), Julia, Kaitlyn (Isaac), Olivia, Luke, Matthew, and Evan—and was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Daelen, Kohen, Della, Reis, London, Ashe, Luka, Mateo, Evie, Maeve, Jackson, and Brooklyn.
Bernice will be remembered for her faith, her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent De Paul or the Scott Mission would be appreciated by the family.
