MICELI, Bernard "Barney" - (1929 - 2013) Has been reunited with the love of his life Glenda (1934 - 2007). Barney leaves behind daughters Frances (Brett), Cathy (Martin) and Teresa as well as beloved pet cat Sparkey. Barney, the youngest of a large family, is also survived by his sister Margaret and by his many nieces and nephews. His gentle sense of humour and loving presence will be missed by all who knew him. Both he and Glenda were long time volunteers at York Finch Hospital where he will be remembered as the man who was always smiling and eager to help. He was a founding member of St. Jude's parish and a good friend and neighbour in the community. Barney may have lost his battle to the cancer that took his life but he won a place at the biggest buffet table with adjoining dance floor in heaven where Glenda was waiting for him. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that you honour Barney with donations to: Covenant House, St. Francis Table, The Good Shepherd Ministries, ALS Society, St. Jude's Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, on Monday, March 4 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 5 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held March 6, 10 a.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Cremation to follow. Please visit Bernard's Book of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com Barney kept his fork for he knew the best was yet to come.
