Passed away peacefully at home. He showed his courageous and determined spirit during his battle with cancer. A husband, brother, father, grandfather, fisherman, prankster, handyman, great neighbour, loyal friend and proud Newfoundlander.

Loving husband to Dorothy (nee Ryan), kind brother to Teresa Shamon, caring father to Bernita (Peter), Myra (Jeff), Mary (Cam), John (Leslie), Bruce (Jeeling), Liz (Jay), Paul (Eileen), Joanna (Graham) and Monica (Joe). Playful grandpa to Bernie, IIeana, Matthew, David, Sean, Amy, Patrick, Liam, Michael, Ginelle, Nathaniel, Edan, Willy, Melanie, Shaelyn, Jonathan, Chloe and Ryan.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Wednesday from 11am to 1pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church (117 Guestville Ave.) on Thursday at 11am. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

We wish him love and peace as he sails back to Paradise, belly full of "Newfie Steak", jigger in hand, clad in his hard soled shoes, bringing a full kettle of cod to his father.
