Bernardus “Bernie” Hendricus Zweerman
November 3rd, 1930- November 11th, 2014

After a long and valiant battle with cancer God welcomed Bernie home on Remembrance Day, November 11 2014. Sadly missed by his beloved wife of 61 years Helena and adoring children, Bernie (Gabrielle), Mugs, Teresa (Klaus), and Yvonne (Dave). Loving Opi to the late Christopher, Brandon (Ashley), Katie (Dushy), Emma (Nick P), Jt, Nick, Erika, Liam and Lucas. Brother of Kees (Vera), Rie, Jan, and Ton (Ria). Special uncle to Jackie. Fondly remembered by Cliff, Vanessa (Ben), Kevin (Sherry), Cameron, Katie, Josh, Lucas and Madison. Bernie had a generous and loving heart and devoted 50 years of service to the St. Vincent de Paul Society ( St Judes Parish, Weston). He loved and treasured his years spent with family and friends at his beloved cottage on Isabella Lake. Special thanks to Winsome (CCAC) Dr. Baguio and the Palliative Care Unit at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston on Sunday November 16th , 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday November 17th at 10:00 am at St. Judes Roman Catholic Church, 3265 Weston Rd. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St. Thornhill. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society ( St. Judes Parish) would be appreciated.
