Benito "Benny" Silano

Benito passed away peacefully on Saturday June 14th, 2025 at the age of 88.

Devoted husband of the late Antonina “Nina”. Proud father of Gino (Liana) and Carlo (Mariangela). Cherished nonno Benny to Alyssa (Alexander) and Julia (Christian).

He will be dearly missed by his brother Domenico and his many family and friends.

Benny has been reunited with his beautiful wife Nina and his siblings Pasquale, Lorenzo, Ciriaco, Raffaele, Antonio and Rosa.

Born in Pratola Serra, Avellino to parents Luigi and Maddalena, he immigrated to Canada in April of 1961. After seeing a picture of his bride to be, the two met and married in 1964. Gino was born a year later, and the family was further expanded with Carlo's birth six years thereafter.

His first years in Canada were spent working as a mechanic. This led to his passion for cars and motorsports. He enjoyed his time with family, listening to music, playing cards and a glass of wine.

We mourn Benny's passing but take comfort in the fact that he is resting peacefully.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Parish (300 Ansley Grove Road, Woodbridge) on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
