Benedetto (Benny) Marson
Benny was predeceased by his wife, Savina. Father to Frank (Christine), his late daughter Wilma and Orfeo (Tracey). Grandfather to Kristen (Kalen), Mackenzie and Celena. Brother to the late Maria (the late Romeo); late Silvana (the late Pietro); the late Miranda(Guiseppe); Tony (Lisa); Anna (the late Maurizio). Brother-in-law to Marzia and Silvio Marson. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Benny was born in Italy on May 5, 1932 and came to Canada as a teenager in 1951 to begin his career as a bricklayer/mason. He was proud of his accomplishments in his buildings as they still stand today. He loved fishing in his younger days and enjoyed dancing with his wife Savina. In his later days he enjoyed time at the community centre playing cards with the locals. He admired his town of Weston where he spent his last days.
A gratitude of thank you goes to all those who helped Benny during his illness: Marzia, Silvio, neighbours Brenda, Franca and Lorenzo; to the ladies April, Judy, Jocel, Judith, Charlene who cared for Benny at his house and to Weston Terrace Care Community for their care of Benny in his last days.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Thursday from 2 – 4:30 p.m. A private family service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 10:30 a.m . Interment to follow at Glendale Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers - a donation in Benny’s name to the PHA Canada would be appreciated.
Effective March 15th, 2021, as per the mandate of the Bereavement Authority and to safely adhere to social distancing requirements, please RSVP for the visitation. Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions, the funeral service and entombment will be private.
Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone is mandatory as per the Provincial Regulations.
