In Loving Memory of Beatrice Yakimoff

(November 4, 1932 - October 9, 2026)

On Friday October 9th, 2026, Beatrice Yakimoff passed away peacefully in her 94th year.

Bea was the beloved wife of Carl (who passed away in September 2024); a wonderful mother to her son, Stephen Carl (Silvia); and a cherished grandmother to Amanda and Eric, who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her mother, Dilys, and younger sister Moira (Edward). She was born in Oshawa, Ontario.

With a keen interest in education, Bea spent several years at home raising Stephen before beginning a career as Head Secretary at North Albion Collegiate (NACI). Bea and Carl were well known for the elaborate parties they hosted for colleagues and friends. Her lemon meringue pies were always a favourite!

Politics was another lifelong passion. Bea was a dedicated member of the Liberal Party and actively campaigned for Liberal candidates in her area. One of her treasured possessions was a photograph of herself meeting Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

After retiring, Bea spent several years helping her son at his sports store in Pickering, Ontario, a role that gave her the opportunity to spend more time with her son.

Above all, Bea treasured her time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She loved taking Amanda on shopping trips and cheering Eric on at his hockey games. When Amanda and Eric were younger, Bea would often pick them up after school and take them to Zellers at Cloverdale Mall for grilled cheese sandwiches. These simple, happy outings became treasured memories that Amanda and Eric will carry with them always.

The last several years of Bea’s life were challenging as she lived with dementia. For the past eight years, she resided at Humber Heights Retirement Residence. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team of caregivers who provided Bea with such compassionate care, comfort and support.

Respecting Bea’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
