Basilio (Bas) Anthony Pacini passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday Sept. 1st. He was the cherished husband of Marie Williams for 73 years. Father of Dino (Barbara), Nicholas ( Evana), Gregory (Lori-Lynn), Anthony, Severio (Christine), Mary Jane (D.J.)

Basil was born on February 22, 1930 in Toronto to parents Severio Pacini and Laura Ugolini. Predeceased by brother Silvio (Violet), sisters Dorina Brutocao (Louis), Gina Palla (George), Mary Worthington (Harry).

Loving Nonno to Thomas (Corina), Cassandra (Ty), Laura Lynn, Adrienne (Kintaro), Olivia (Scott), Caitlin, Christopher (Poppie), Abigale and Jack and Bisnonno to Maisie, Kian, Brody, Darcy and Florence.

Brother-in-law to Carmel Primeau (Robert), Patrick Williams (Gloria) and predeceased by Edward, James, Francis, John, Donald, Jerry, Thomas Williams. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews of the Pacini and Williams families.

Basil had very deep roots on Maple Leaf Dr. and was fortunate to raise his family and live his life there for 94 years. On the very spot that his family home sits today, was the land that his father farmed. Like his father, Bas was an avid gardener, and his garden was truly a labour of love.

He was a very handy man who could fix just about anything and could make something out of nothing. Some of his other hobbies included hunting, fishing and model building. He was also a very avid reader and particularly interested in history. Basil was a great dancer and liked to “trip the light fantastic” with his favourite dance partner and beautiful wife, Marie.

Basil graduated from Weston Collegiate High School and went on to a very successful career as an electrician. He was a long-standing member of the IBEW 353.

Basil’s greatest accomplishment, was his family. His legacy will live on through his 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Fri. Oct. 2 at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd.: 4:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be on Sat. Oct. 3 at 10:00am at St. Philip Neri Church, 2100 Jane St.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humber River Hospital or a charity of your choice.
