With deep sadness we announce that Barbara Anne Rogers (nee Hudson), beloved wife of Howard Rogers passed away on Thursday March 28, 2013 at the age of 85. Loving mother of Charley LaRose (nee Debi Rogers) and her partner Michael Kelley, and the late Darin Rogers. Adoring grandmother of Garrett Kelley and Katie Rogers. Survived by her brother Harold Hudson of Creston, B.C. Predeceased by her sister Bernie, and brothers Chance and Delbert.
Barb was born in Oakland California and as a babe in arms moved to Purple Springs, Alberta and later to Lethbridge. After meeting Howie in Lethbridge, she moved to Toronto where they married in 1947. For 25 years after retirement they enjoyed life at their cottage home in Oro Medonte, before moving back to Toronto in 2009. An avid gardener, she passed on her love of growing things to her daughter. Barb always could find a place for lost animals and the bird feeder was always carefully tended.
We give special thanks to her caregivers at Lakeshore Lodge, 3rd Floor South Unit, the Toronto Rehabilitation Inst., and staff at the Toronto General Hospital.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston, on Monday 7-9 p.m . A service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday April 2nd , 2013 at 11 a.m . Interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
