EGIZII, Assunta (nee Palumbo) born November 25, 1926 in Roccamorice, Terme, P. Pescara)
Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Sunday February 28, 2016. Daughter of the late Antonio Palumbo and Giuseppa Dalfonso. Beloved wife of Donato Egizii. Loving mother of Nick (Sigrid), Emilio (Sharon), Tony (Josephine), Rita (Greg), Livia Fiorini (Marcello). Cherished Nonna of Michael, Sandra, Andrea, Daniel, Christopher, Carina, Hayley, Peter, Laura, Steve, Julia, Kevin, Anthony and Christine. Great-grandmother to Nicholas, Isabelle, David, Matthew, Cameron, Nicole, Amelia and Jackson. Sister of Agostino, Maria, Giovanni, Frank, Luisa, and Anna. Assunta was a gentle and loving caregiver. Her family was her world. Unselfish and nurturing, she generously opened her home and heart to the children of family and many friends. She could always be found in her kitchen -- preparing pasta, pizza and brodo for her family. She gained her strength from faith, her belief in family values, and knowing that all was as it should be. She never asked for much. Instead, she gave -- with her whole heart and soul and, with a smile and sparkle in her eye. Visitation will be at the Ward Funeral Home- 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge 905-851-9100 (West of Pine Valley) on Tuesday March 1, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at 9:30 am at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (8500 Islington Avenue). Interment at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
