It is with love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Arminda Rodrigues, who left us on November 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Arminda daughter of Jose, Hortencia Mare survived by her beloved husband, Eduardo, beloved siblings Laura, Duarte, Cidalia, Venilde her devoted children Filomena (Maurice) and Richard (Gorete), and her cherished grandchildren Linda, Matthew, Tracy, and Melissa. She was also blessed to meet and love her great-grandchildren Marc, Aby, Hunter, Holly, Jacob, and Hudson, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel in 1947. Arminda and Eduardo later immigrated to Canada, where they built a beautiful life grounded in love, hard work, and a deep devotion to Senor Santo Cristo and Mother Mary. Their faith brought community to neighbours; sharing from their garden to several homes enforcing values that shaped their children and all who knew them.
Affectionately known as our “Love Bug,” Arminda shared kindness and generosity with everyone she met. She had a special connection with children, who effortlessly brought out her warmth, humor, and joyful spirit. Intuitive and compassionate, she always seemed to know what others needed and gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly.
Arminda will be remembered for her gentle warmth, boundless generosity, and loving heart. Her humor, her compassion, and her unwavering dedication to her family will be forever treasured.
Though our hearts ache and her absence leave’s a void that can never be filled, we find comfort in knowing that her beautiful spirit lives on in everyone she touched. She will be forever loved and never forgotten.
“Teresa, on every assignment that I ask you to do, I do not want scholars. My will is that everything shall be done with humbleness and pureness, so that everyone can see that my works are made with wisdom and greatness.” Gifted to Teresa d’Anunciada, nun of Esperanca’s Monastery; Arminda and Eduardo’s love.
