In Loving Memory of Antonio (Tony) Pezzetta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father and Nonno, Tony Pezzetta, at Humber River Hospital on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in his 93rd year.

Tony was a dedicated and loving Father of Daniel (Maria, predeceased), Ron (Ellen), and Dino (Kelly). Cherished Nonno of Megan (Greg) Youldon, Christopher and Sara Pezzetta, and Ilona (Darren) Farry. Great Nonno to Logan Youldon and Madigan, Erika and Lauren Farry. Tony is also survived by his only brother Arrigo Pezzetta, nieces Sandra Paterna, Debbie Starkowski, and nephews Lino Pezzetta, and Tony Colonello, grandnieces/nephews, and relatives and friends in Canada and Italy.

He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Marina (Colonello), who passed away April 1, 2009. He is predeceased by his parents, Garbino and Vitalina Pezzetta and his sister-in-law Maria Pezzetta.

Born on December 14, 1932 in the town of Osoppo, in northern Italy, Tony, came to Canada in 1951. Tony met Marina in Canada and they were married on May 8, 1954, and built and moved into their family home 2 ½ years later. Tony lived in that home until last year at the age of 91 years, when his health issues no longer allowed him to do so. Tony and Arrigo were known for their family construction business, Pezzetta Bros. Masonry, which they ran for many decades.

An avid and skilled trap and skeet shooter, Tony was well known for his leadership with the Toronto International Trap Shooting organization. This is truly one of the legacies he leaves behind. He will also be remembered for his steadfast independence, his hard working strong will and his sense of humour.

We are sincerely grateful to the staff at Downsview Long Term Care for their care and compassion over the past several months. Thank you to the medical staff at Humber River Hospital for their palliative care in recent days. Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Homes, 2035 Weston Road on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Ward Funeral Homes on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 10:30 am with internment at Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane St., Concord, with a luncheon reception at Ward’s Funeral Home to follow.

Rest in peace Tony/Nonno. You are now reunited with your beloved Marina/Nonna. Give her a big hug from us all. We love you and thank you for all that you gave us.
