Antonina Drago (nee LaRosa)

It is with great sadness that the family of Antonina Drago announces her peaceful passing at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, surrounded by her family, on the afternoon of June 25th, 2023. Antonina was born in Sicily, Italy on March 10, 1940. Beloved wife to the late Giuseppe, married 54 years. Cherished mother of Piera (Brian) & Joe (Ernestina) who will remember their loving nature. She was also a cherished grandmother (Nonna) to Philip (Martine) & Shawn, and a proud great-grandmother (Bisnonna) to Amelya.

Antonina & Giuseppe married in Italy, and a few years later the couple along with their young daughter travelled to Canada in hopes for providing her family with new opportunities. It was in Canada that they welcomed their second child Joe. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her loved ones, family dinners were an especially important time to her, her children fondly remember sitting around her table enjoying her classic Italian cooking and especially her desserts.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church (100 Bainbridge Ave, Woodbridge) on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
