Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday April 12, 2026 at the age of 90.
Antonietta is now reunited with her beloved husband, Vincenzino Zannella. She will be sadly missed by her son Giuseppe Zannella and daughter Giovanna Zannella. Cherished Nonna of Vince, Bianca and Gabriel Zannella. She is also reunited with her loving parents Maria Rosa and Giuseppe Rosa, and her siblings Nicolino, Luisa and Jasmine Rosa. She will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends especially by her best friend of more than 40 years, her neighbour Maria D’Orazio.
Born in Avellino Italy to parents Giuseppe and Maria Rosa. Antonietta was always adventurous and in her 20’s she moved with her sisters to London England. Antonietta would share stories of her time there; such stories would include the time she saw The Rolling Stones well before becoming famous.
Antonietta met the love of her life by corresponding with Vincenzino through handwritten letters. They married in Italy and eventually made their way to Canada. They both worked hard to build a better life for themselves. To wind down after a hard week, Vincenzino and Antonietta loved to go dancing at the Italian Club.
Antonietta was a proud and devoted grandmother who loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world. She treasured every moment spent with her family, especially the time they shared together in the backyard. She always looked forward to Pino and Giovanna’s date nights, as they gave her the opportunity to enjoy special time with her grandchildren.
Antonietta also found joy in shopping at the Promenade and watching her Italian soaps. Her love of music filled the home—she could often be heard singing along to the Beach Boys or the Rolling Stones in the kitchen while preparing meals and baking for her loved ones.
She dedicated more than 25 years of her career to working at Toronto General Hospital.
She will be fondly remember by so many, and loved forever.
