Antonietta Cugini

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Antonietta Cugini, who peacefully passed away in her home on Saturday, January 27th, 2024.

Antonietta was a devoted mother to Rita (Denis), Diana (Steve) and Nonna to Carissa and Bianca. Antonietta is reunited once again with her beloved husband Antonio. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends. A woman of strength and resiliency beyond expectation. She was extremely dedicated to her family and was the matriarch of her household. Antonietta's eyes lit up when she was surrounded by her family and friends. There are no words to describe her immeasurable love for them. Always cooking traditional homemade  Italian meals, her family remembers her traditional Pasta alla Genovese, taccozzelle, ciambelle al vino and her delicious Italian rum sponge cake. 

A woman who was a devout Roman Catholic, she upheld her Christian values both in and outside of Church. She was an independent woman, who strongly believed in the power of prayer; her family recalls her praying regularly. The positive impact her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and the world at large can certainly be felt.

Antonietta loved any excuse to celebrate. So long as there was music, good food, family and friends, Antonietta could be found with a smile on her face and love in her heart. 

All are welcome to gather at The Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Weston ON. On Thursday, February 1st, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard de Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at 10:00am. With entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery located at 1450 St. Clair Ave West, Toronto.
