Antonietta Belyk

ANTONIETTA (TONI) BELYK (nee PIZZOLA)

Antonietta passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 after spending the day with her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Frank, proud mother of Rose (Ed) and Frank (Val) cherished grandmother of Nicholas, Dylan (Melissa) and Jesse. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Toni has now been reunited with her dear husband Frank.

Growing up in Roccacasale Italy, Toni was introduced to bingo at the age of 7. Bingo became a lifelong passion that she enjoyed daily after retiring at age 65. She was a lucky winner of the game and came home with plenty of cash and prizes.

As a young woman Antonietta and her sister Lucy would tell their parents they were going to their night school class. However, instead they would go to the Masonic Temple for a night of dancing. It was on one of these nights in November 1945 she met the young man Frank. In June of 1946 they were married. The wedding took place on a Monday as her father wouldn’t close his shoe repair shop on a Saturday, the busiest day of the week.

They worked hard to purchase a home and start their family. Toni said she didn’t like to cook but prepared pasta from scratch making great lasagna and gnocchi. She agreed to share her recipes but when we tried to make them they never tasted the same as hers. We are still trying to match her potato salad to this day.

Antonietta was a grandmother who enjoyed looking after her grandsons. When she babysat she worried her grandson Dylan wasn’t eating enough, his chubby cheeks were a result of being fed plenty of baby pastina.

“We all will love you and will miss you forever”
